a guilty pleasure everyone knows about…

It’s officially 7 days until the Wii… woohoo! It gonna be some cold, cold, hard-nipples-cold weather in Boston!

So how am I spending my time until then? Well, I completed Beyond Good and Evil last night (finally) and it was a fairly enjoyable, albiet short, gaming experience. Too bad they probably won’t be making a sequel even though the ending sets up for one. Well, all in all, I got to scratch one game off my never passed list. With really less than a week left, I am debating on whether to go out and buy Final Fantasy III or Yoshi’s Island 2 tomorrow for the DS. I’m pretty tight on cash until the end of the year but dangit, now is the time to splurge and play!

Today, I got a few items in the mail which made me unusually happy. First I got my pair of hanging shoe holders. Now I will no longer be throwing my shoes in a dark corner in the coat closet. The racks are supposed to hold 20 pairs but I’m guessing these were made for womens’ shoes as a pair of my shoes (and I’m only a size 8.5) seem to bust the shoe sleeves… soooo… what should hold 2 pairs is only going to hold 10 pairs.

The second thing I got was a set of DVDs from Hong Kong with the complete Ally McBeal TV series. So far, the discs have some technical issues and I’m fairly sure they’re bootlegs. Another tell tale was the fact that discs 3 and 4 (of 30) do not have Ally related artwork on them. In fact, Disc 4 has the Season 1 Smallville promo photo on it. Anyway, For a nominal price, I guess it was worth it. I actually thought it was a genuine product (and that products in Asia are just cheaper) but I guess I was wrong. Oh well, I got 30 discs to go through.

a flurry of video game goodness

November 5th, 2006 by flakeboy

It’s odd that over the past year, I’ve only been purchasing games avery few months or so. Only once did I actually see two games I wanted and picked both up (because I don’t buy that many any more and I am single after all). But at this time of year, more so than in past years, it’s going to be a little crazy to resist the onslaught of gaming goodness. Final Fantasy XII for the PS2, Final Fantasy III for the DS, Children of Mana for the DS, and on top of that, I am going to purchase the Wii with Twilight Princess and I’m leaning heavily towards Raving Rabbids, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, and Trauma Center Second Opinion. There’s also the Metal Slug Anthology too; gosh, just too many games. I’m debatingon picking up FF XII and seeing how far I can get in that game before I get Twilight Princess but I really don’t want to have two half-finished epic games on my plate a t once. I already know that FFIII will become my game of choice for the gym… I can’t wait… I feel like Cartman in last week’s episode of South Park. Only two more Wiiks! Ugh, I have a headache now too. I think I’m getting sick. :(
