Power Outage

So yesterday around 9 AM, I had my work day on track. 2 projects to knock out and then a hopefully quiet afternoon… then BAMN! Th power goes out in our building. Since our office also works on voice over IP, our phones went down to… so nothing. No one was able to work on anything. Luckily for me (or unluckily) I had saved two of the three projects I’d been working on to my desktop instead of the server… so after a half hour of waiting and deciding that the power was not going to come back on, I packed up my desktop computer and went over to our sister office in Torrance. I eventually got the things done under the wire and now I have my work computer on the trunk of my car. YAY!

I’m going to go to the gym now, run a few errands and then head back to the El Segundo office to finish the last of the three projects. It’ll be during the UCLA-USC game so hopefully it’ll be quiet. I can always turn on one of the plasmas in the lobby if I wanna check it out for a little bit. Ugh. I feel so gross… I really need to hit the gym this morning…

Despite the power outage, probably cause by the rain in some manner), I still love the rain. Yesterday was the first day in months I was able to break out my black trench (we don’t get to do that much in CA unless your goth or… emo… or psychotic?). Unfortunately, my trench had an accident last night. As I was closing the trunk to my CRV, one of the buttons got snagged on the door and tore a whole in my jacket! WAH! I’m hoping my cleaners/tailors can fix it without making it look too bad. :( … Then again, maybe I should look at this as a good thing… now I have an excuse to buy a new trench coat…
