Dialga (Capture Diagram)
Simple Diagram: Dialga gets smushed into a teenie-tiny Timer Ball…

I realize very few of you will understand or give a damn but I just wanted to state that I captured Dialga (or ディアルガ, Diaruga in Japanese) in Pokémon Diamond using only a Timer Ball. Oh yeah! Normally I would have wasted a Master Ball catchign this guy but I’m saving that for more rare Pokémon. :p… OK, I’m going to crawl back under my rock now…

Cute plushie version of Dialga… to capture one of these I will need a credit card

Simply wrong

July 15th, 2007 by flakeboy

So I was surfing and found a news article on MSN about a couple that got so caught up in their gaming that they did not fee their children. How sad is that?! In general, there’s just a lot of things wrong with modern-day society and I guess this is just one more thing.

This is why you should encourage your children to play video games AND to know how to cook for themselves… even at 11 months!

Anyone Can Cook… but alas… No Fried Foods for 2 Months…

July 14th, 2007 by flakeboy

On the verge of 30 and also tipping the scales at 150 again… so it’s time to make a change. In n effort to lose some of the weight I’ve slowly gained back over the past year or so, I’m going to cut out fried foods completely until I turn 30 (just so I can have friend foods around the time of my birthday). I’m also cutting down on my red meat and trying to eat more fruits, vegetables and nuts. Yuck, sounds almost vegan-like… not that there’s anything wrong with begin vegan… I just LOVE meat too much to give it up. Bleh…

This past week I went looking for the soundtrack for Ratatouille and would you believe I could not find it in stores? Neither Target or Best Buy had it and the former Tower records store was always closed by the time I went to look there… so I bit the bullet and paid to download it from iTunes. Personally, there’s nothing wrong with iTunes and its a bit cheaper than buying a physical CD, but I just like having a hard copy that I can rip to MP3 on my terms that would work with any MP3 player. Now, to get my purchase in MP3 format, I have to do the whole burning to CD and re-ripping to MP3 which is just a pain which i don’t think I should have to go through considering I purchased my music legally. Not that I can fault Apple or any music retailer for taking steps that take against piracy (it’s their livelihood after all), but its just a nuisance for me to go the extra mile. blah.

Last night, I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with Bryan and it was pretty good. the usual unexplained stuff happens in this movie as well but that’s just what has to happen when you condense so much material. Unlike previous Potter movies however, They did a LOT of rewriting to condense the story and much of what they did to save time wasn’t all that bad. It got us through the story quicker and for the purposes of the movies, it didn’t tarnish the story too much. The Half-Blood Prince (book 6) may not be so easily rewritten but then again, if they write the scripts for movies 6 and 7 at the same time, they should be able to determine what they can keep and drop on the floor as there’s a lot of information thrown at the reader in book 6 but it remains to be seen how much is important until having read book 7… which I cannot wait to get my hands on. I’m having my mailed overnight… unfortunately, I won’t get it until next Monday since I had it shipped to my office and my office is closed on Saturday AND Amazon will not let me change my shipping address so close to the shipping date. Boo! I was planning on spending next weekend plowing through the book. Wah.

Roasted Pork & Ratatouille

July 2nd, 2007 by flakeboy

Monday morning, it’s slow today…

What am I doing to help pass time? I’m pondering what to bring to/or cook for Wendesday’s BBQ. I’m really craving some BBQ pork, but not American stuff… I’m really craving the crispy-hanging-in-a-window stuff you get from Sam Woo’s. Hmmmm… Anyone feel liek picking me up a pound or three? I don’t fancy driving to Monterey Park or Irvine…

Pixar movie magic…

I’m also looking for artwork from the movie Ratatouille which I saw Saturday night in lieu of waiting in line at Paramount to see Transformers (which I will no doubt see later this week anyway). I had high expectations for this movie and as usual, Pixar nailed it again–they’ve never dissapointed. I didn’t think I would like Cars or a movie about finding a lost Clownfish, yet both of those movies have their DVD’s sitting on my shelf and I fully intend to add Ratatouille to my collection as well when it comes out.

If any of you want to go see Ratatouille, I’d be willing to see it again, but not for another 2 weeks, I wanna be able to use my Silver AMC ticket if I’m going to see it again. :)
