feeling gassy

June 19th, 2007 by flakeboy

The title pretty much says it all. I had a Quizno’s salad for lunch and now I feel the need to share my current bloated state with the world. That is all. I actually don;t like the Quizno’s downstairs but it’s the most convenient place to go eat when I’m in ahurry or plain lazy (walking to Bristol Farms is always my second choice but the walk itself is like 5-10 minutes each way).

Oh well, time to get back to work now… it’s gonna get a bit warm in my cubicle area…

Back to work…

June 10th, 2007 by flakeboy

After 3 days in Vegas with Bryan and a relaxing 2 days of vegging, i think I’m ready to go back to work… did I lose more money? You betcha!

I did curb my gambling somewhat with this last visit to Sin City by planning other activities away from the slot machines. On Wednesday evening, we went to see Monty Python’s Spamalot at the Wynn which turned out to be quite enjoyable. For those of you who’ve seen Monty Python and the the Holy Grail, this is basically a musical loosely based on the movie. There are a lot of scenes from the movie itself as well as numerous new scenes and characters. There’s also a few Vegas twists to the show we saw (which I assume is only in the Vegas production and not the Broadway one). if you got time to spare, can pull yourself away from the tables and slots, and enjoy stupid humor, then I’d highly recommend taking in this show. You’ll laugh a lot and probably find yourself humming a tune or two after the show ends.

The other show I dragged Bryan to was The Price is Right as Bally’s… This I cannot recommend. Basically, those attending the show all get to play these little multiple-choice quiz games with a sensor pad. Of those who answer the quiz questions correctly, a select 4 are chosen at random to go up to contestant’s row to bid on cheap appliances (very much like the actual game show). The winner of the price guessing game is then treated to an on-stage game straight from the the real show. We saw contestants compete in Race Game, It’s in the Bag, Plinko, Hole in One (or Two), and Cliff Hangers. After each game though, instead of only calling up one new contestant to contestant’s row, 4 more people are chosen at random after answer a quiz question. In addition to these games, 3 other randomly chosen contestants also spun the giant wheel for cash and 2 were chosen to participate in a watered-down showcase showdown. Being so close to the stage and actually seeing the games played in person was fun i have to admit and the host was also pretty good at keeping the audience engaged. So why am I not recommending it? Well, at $50 a head to get in, I’d rather go see a regular taping of the Price is Right for free. If you really love game shows though and don’t mind the $50, then it is a lot of fun. Otherwise, you may ask yourself why you paid to see in person other people win prizes you didn’t.

Anyway, it’s Sunday night and I don’t look forward to going back to work but that’s all part of life. i checked my email briefly and noticed over 100 new emails… yuck…

The Price is Wrong Barker…

June 6th, 2007 by flakeboy

I am so tired. I slept at 3 and am about to take my car to get an oil change before I head out to Vegas with Bryan. As some of you may know, today is Bob Barker’s last episode of the Price is Right. To honor this, I’m going to drag Bryan over to Bally’s to play the Vegas version of the Price is Right… actually, we’ll do that tomorrow. Tonight I think we’re going to try to get tickets to Spamalot.

Why are you going to Vegas again so soon? Weren’t you just there? Didn’t you just LOSE a lot of money there just 2 weeks ago?

Yeah, but Bryan wanted to go and… well… maybe everyone needs a little time away to forget about things they don’t want to remember. Besides, being there for work is not quite the same as having the freedom to come and go and actually do things without rushing between venues and the airport.

Doodley-doo

June 4th, 2007 by flakeboy

It’s time i started drawing again… This is a sketch of a new character I’ve been tooling around with in sketches. Drawing this helped pass some time during the Colorado conference I went to as well as some time this weekend when i was tired of beating up level 20s Pokemon…

Below is what i started with…

It’s Pokemon time again

June 2nd, 2007 by flakeboy

I picked up Pokemon Diamond last Thursday, i doubt anyone I know still plays this game but I’m stuck in 1996. Anyway, anyone who wants to trade or battle, let me know. I just got my 3rd gym badge. My goal is to beat the elite four by the end of the month.

I also just recently beat Lunar Knights and Final Fantasy VI Advance if anyone wants to swap or trade games.

(and yes… this has been what I’ve been doing in my free time)
